The exhibition “In den Blick nehmen” is taking shape across the three levels of the Schlossgalerie Schärding, showcasing three young artists from Vienna. Elena Kristofor, Anja Nowak, and Laura Sperl present photographic, installation, and sculptural works.
Where the earth’s surface meets the sky, a line is drawn. Laura Sperl and Elena Kristofor have found this line, a line that connects the artists. The exhibition “In den Blick nehmen” is dedicated to this line, the horizon. Anja Nowak acts as a mediator here; she draws the lines. The forest and the sea meet; they are brought into view.
Lines are shifted and depicted, as a division within the forest or as a temporal fixation on the beach, which likewise draws a line. The line, an ideal, always leads us to the places that challenge us. For Elena Kristofor, it is the forest; for Laura Sperl, the sea; and for Anja Nowak, it is the line itself.
